This Privacy Policy describes how DRIVER NE LLP (“DriverNE”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, stores, and protects personal information when you use the Driver NE mobile application, website (driverne.com), and related services (collectively, the “Platform”).

By registering, logging in, or using the Driver NE customer app, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly and information generated when you use the Platform.

2.1 Account & profile information

  • Mobile phone number (required for OTP login and account identification)
  • Full name (required for new user registration)
  • Email address (optional)
  • Profile photograph (optional)
  • SOS / emergency contact number (optional, if you add it in your profile)
  • Terms & Conditions acceptance record (timestamp and version)

2.2 Booking & trip information

  • Pickup and drop-off addresses or locations
  • Booking date, time, service type, and trip status
  • Fare estimates, final amounts, and payment method (cash or online)
  • OTP codes used to start or end trips (processed for verification; not shared with other users)
  • Booking history and active trip details shown in the app

2.3 Location information

  • Device location when you grant permission — used to show your position on the map, set pickup points, find nearby drivers, and support trip coordination
  • Location is collected only while you use location-based features and when permission is enabled on your device

2.4 Payment information

  • Online payments are processed by Razorpay, a third-party payment gateway
  • DriverNE does not store your full card, UPI PIN, or net-banking credentials
  • We may store Razorpay order ID, payment ID, payment status, and amount for booking reconciliation and support

2.5 Device & technical information

  • Authentication tokens stored securely on your device to keep you logged in
  • App version, device type, and basic technical logs needed to operate and secure the service

3. How We Use Your Information

  • Create and manage your account
  • Send OTP codes for login and trip verification via SMS
  • Process driver booking requests and display trip status
  • Facilitate payments and issue booking confirmations
  • Provide customer support (phone, WhatsApp, email)
  • Improve platform safety, prevent fraud, and comply with applicable law
  • Send service-related communications about your bookings

4. Third-Party Service Providers

We share limited data with trusted providers only as needed to operate the Platform:

  • MSG91 — SMS OTP delivery to your registered mobile number
  • Razorpay — secure online payment processing
  • Google Maps — maps, geocoding, and location display in the app
  • Hosting & infrastructure — secure storage of app data and uploaded profile images on our servers

These providers process data under their own privacy policies and applicable agreements. We require them to use data only for the services they provide to DriverNE.

5. Data Sharing With Drivers

When you book a trip, we share information necessary for the driver to perform the service, such as your name, contact number, pickup/drop details, and trip instructions. Drivers are independent contractors and must use your information only for the assigned trip.

6. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to:

  • Provide services and maintain booking records
  • Resolve disputes and provide customer support
  • Meet legal, tax, and regulatory requirements

When you request account deletion, we will delete or anonymise personal data unless retention is required by law or legitimate business needs (e.g. completed transaction records).

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including HTTPS encryption for API communication, secure token storage on devices, and access controls on our servers. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; please keep your device and OTP confidential.

8. Your Choices & Rights

  • Access & update: Edit your profile (name, email, photo, SOS number) in the app
  • Location: Enable or disable location permission in your device settings
  • Marketing: We do not sell your personal data to third parties for their marketing
  • Deletion: Contact us to request account or data deletion
  • Complaints: You may contact us or applicable data protection authorities in India

9. Children

The Platform is intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has provided data, contact us to request deletion.

10. International Transfers

Our primary operations and data storage are in India. Some third-party providers (e.g. Google, Razorpay) may process data on servers located outside India under appropriate safeguards and their published policies.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Effective Date” at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the app after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy. Material changes may be communicated via the app or website.
